Rules Protection
Within the Journey Pricing settings, the Rules Protection section is initially visible. Its objective is to prevent any modification of existing Journey Pricing records by user groups associated with specific roles.
This section can be hidden from users by modifying the permissions of the respective roles.
Protecting Rules Marked as "Base"
Administrators can enable the Protect rules marked as "Base" rules option in Journey Pricing Settings. Once activated, any Pricing Rule record marked as "Is Base" in its configuration is protected from modifications by users without editing permissions.
Protecting Rules with Past Selling Dates
Similarly, administrators can enable the Protect rules with target selling dates in the past option in Journey Pricing Settings. Once activated, records with Selling From and Selling To dates in the past are protected from modifications by users without editing permissions, following a process akin to the "Is Base" protection.
Protected Record UI
Once a record is protected, a lock icon is displayed at the start of the record, making it non-selectable for any potential modifications. This visual indicator reinforces that the record is restricted to view-only access for users without editing permissions.
Bulk Upload for Efficient Updates
The Bulk Upload functionality allows administrators to efficiently mark multiple records as "Is Base" or update their Selling From and Selling To dates to past dates, streamlining the process of applying protection to Pricing Rules.
Access Restrictions
Users without editing permissions will see a lock icon on the left side of protected records, indicating they can only view the configuration, not edit it. Attempting to create a new protected Pricing Rule or modify an existing one to become protected (e.g., by marking it as "Is Base" or setting past selling dates) will trigger an error message if the user lacks the necessary permissions.
Additional Information
Both protection options ("Protect rules marked as 'Base' rules" and "Protect rules with target selling dates in the past") can be enabled simultaneously without any conflicts, allowing administrators to safeguard both "Is Base" records and those with past selling dates concurrently.
