Redeeming a Gift certificate

To redeem a gift certificate in the Betterez Backoffice app, the user would need to enter the entire 24 character Gift Certificate ID including the GC label as well, in the payment field. Since this is quite a long code, we recommend copying and pasting the digits when possible.

A Gift Certificate is not cancellable or refundable.

Tickets that have been bought with a Gift Certificate, partial or full, can be cancellable, but not refundable. It means the value of the gift certificate is lost and cannot be used again.

If you want to allow the use of more than one Gift certificate per transaction, you may enable this feature under Admin > Setup

Troubleshooting

Websales

If an error occurs when attempting to purchase a Gift Card in Websales, this may be due to the fact that the corresponding gift certificate has the Taxable field enabled in its configuration, but the account does not have a station configured in the Default shift location field under the Shift Settings section.

The system may display an error message similar to the following:

Redeem multiple GC

This behavior occurs because when the Taxable field is enabled, the system requires a reference station to calculate taxes. Since Websales does not use an active shift associated with a station, the account must have a Default shift location configured. If this field is not set, the system is unable to determine a location for tax calculation, resulting in an error.

How to resolve the issue

To resolve this issue, you need to configure a station in the account’s Default shift location field. This will allow the system to use this station as a reference for calculating taxes on purchases made through Websales.

To configure this, follow the path: Administration > Account > Shift

In this section, select the desired station in the field Default shift location.

Redeem multiple GC

Once this value is configured, Gift Card purchases in Websales should process correctly.
