Using the scanner app

Starting with v5.10.8 the login page now has the option to use an scanner badge for login. After scanning his/her badge the user has to enter the password.

The most significant changes for this version are the possibility of scanning monthly passes (trip online and trip offline) and a new validation for parcels that prevents scans after it was delivered.

Request ID: If =true, the holder of the flex pass will be required to show ID. A message will appear on the scanning device prompting the scanner operator to check ID.

The Flexpass can also be redeemed for a reservation in the moment prior to boarding by having the driver or scanner operator directly scan the Flexpax ticket QR code. Once scanned, the one use has been redeemed and the passenger details associated with the Flexpass will populate the passenger manifest.

Check in reader app

The program also have the ability to see if your reader is working properly, and it's reading the information you want, you can click on Test reader, a new window will appear and every time you scan a document you will see the information collected.

You can see a list of boarding passengers. In the case of the image the ticket was not redeemed and you can redeem it either by scanning the ticket or clicking in the green Redeem button from the manifest list. From this view, you can also tag a passenger as no-show. For more info about statuses, please go to Ticket status article

When you want to sell a ticket from the Scanner App and your product has a Station Paid In item, it will reflect in the price shown at the checkout but not in the details as a separate item.

Use Case: Operators can have drivers sell additional services at bus side, items that may not have been declared or booked at the time of the ticket sale. For example: extra baggage, blankets, bringing a pet carrier on board.

Configuration: Administration -> Scanning, go to "Scanner app sales" subheading

Make sure to update to the latest driver app to see the latest features.

Where's my bus?

Even if this feature is activated on websales, you still need to configure back-office and the scanner app in order to have the real-time position of the buses.

  • Flex pass redemptions will create new tickets. This means that scanning a flex pass OR redeeming it in advance will add up a transaction and a ticket. However, since there is no payment associated to a redemption, the revenue will remain the same.
