Scanner app changelog 7.x.x

If you find the app not working after upgrading to this version in particular, please delete all app data before continue using it, since you may be experiencing some problems related to data inconsistency. To do so, please go to: Phone Settings --> Apps --> btrz-scanning-app --> Storage --> press "Clear Cache" && "Clear Data". Keep in mind that uninstalling the app does not guarantee that the data is deleted, thus we recomend to delete data by hand.

The service uses this traffic simulation to find trips. As it is finding trips, it makes sure that all of the trips that it finds respect a few rules based on the transfer restrictions settings and the path finder options.

Time Zones

Within the schedule settings, the Time Zone field includes the "Use time zone of first station" option, which allows the schedule to be based on the time zone of the first station in the itinerary instead of the account's time zone.

  • User will only see their assigned trips if that restriction was set by the admin under admin/scanning --> Trip selection settings --> "Only show trips assigned to the user".
    Since the filtering is done on our servers, the filtering will also happen on previous versions. Although using v9.26.0 guarantees that any previously downloaded trip will be deleted from the app if user is not assigned to them.

Use Case: For operators who have drivers using the app over multiple days, our current settings will retain yesterday's date for the trips view. For operators who want to always default the trips view to today’s date, this configuration will ensure drivers are always looking at their current days trip.

Segments information

The Segments information contains settings the information that will be used to add travel time and travel distances to the tickets. This information is used to generate schedules and to set the information in the ticket for the tickets report.

Print templates

You can enable print templates in the print settings admin area. Once enable you can select a template collection from the list. Notice that most template collections are used only in the backoffice channel for printing purposes and for other channels or to attach to email the "Default" collection will be used.

We highly recommend you adjust the connection engine settings before deciding to filter trips using this feature, because it will be easier to maintain in the long run.

Data Archiving

Data archiving is applied to some accounts based on a number of factors, but is generally based on the amount of data being stored, as well as the age of the data. These settings are stored internally in the Betterez system and cannot be interacted with via the UI.

Manifests

If a manifest requires maintaining the same seat positions when changing vehicles between two seatmaps with different capacities, the Enable seat reaccommodation by preferred seat option must be enabled in the Operation Settings section.

To enable your customers to have the option of making changes to their reservation using the Betterez Self Service Portal, you can select the "Enable self service change" option under the Customer account settings.

Gift certificates

If an error occurs when attempting to purchase a Gift Card in Websales, this may be due to the fact that the corresponding gift certificate has the Taxable field enabled in its configuration, but the account does not have a station configured in the Default shift location field under the Shift Settings section.
