The Show sold out trips checkbox will indicate if sold out trips are shown in the trips results page. These trips will be clearly marked as sold out and the user will not be able to purchase them.

The point to point schema works adding a price triangle in each route. You will be able to enter prices for the O & D combinations in each route. Connecting trips (if connections are enable for your account), will be calculated as the sum of each individual price as defined in each of the triangles of the routes.

Your timing is now set for seat selection. When a customer enters the seat selection window and clicks a seat, another user following the same trip origin, destination and time would see a greyed out seat and unable to select.

If the JP record for the reservation part does not has an openReturnPrice, we will load the JP record that matches the O & D for the return and we will check if that record has an openReturnPrice. If it does we will use that price (without applying any fare type discount in this case). If there are several JP records where the O & D match, then the lowest price will be used.

Manifests

The system will try to re-assign the seats as best as possible. If the new vehicle/seatmap has less seats than already sold, you will not be able to change the it.

This is a very resource intensive list and can take several seconds to show the results in the screen. When possible use the 5 day outlook instead.

Products - flexpass

In line with our increasing suite of products, Betterez has now created a Flex pass product. Very similar to the previous Monthly pass, as its name implies, the flex pass is a little more "flexible". Now, the flex pass can be configured and sold to last for longer or shorter durations and with enhanced security features.

Networkwide flexpasses need to be selected in the Product Lines section of the Routes. It also needs to have a fare table defined under Routes and Schedules although its price will be determined and pulled from this configuration.

Stations and locations

You can add to station a cost center and associate the station with an operating company. This information will be copied into the shift created in that station and linked to all items sold in that station with an open shift.

Disabled The station will not be available to create new routes, but the station will still show up in all combo boxes, inclusive for trip searches. However, a disabled station will not appear as an option to open a shift or to enable a trusted machine.

Once a route is in use with tickets sold in it you cant modify the route name. You would need to disable it and create a new route to which you would add new schedules.

In order to create a route, you must have first create some stations that you want to use as the stops in your route. For Betterez, a Route is any collection of stations that flow in the same direction. With that definition in mind, in order to sell a round trip, you must create and opposite route, or using that same collection of stations, have them flow in the opposite direction.

Creating fare types

  • Max Quantity: The number entered in this field will be the maxiumum number of tickets of this fare type that can be sold in one transaction.

One of the first things you might want to do before setting up Routes and Schedules, but for this article, we will stick with simple fare types.

Refunds

For tickets sold through Busbud, refunds are managed by our support team. To proceed with a refund, please provide the details of the tickets you wish to refund by opening a support ticket. We will handle the refund process and once the refund is completed, we will cancel the ticket in our system to make it available for resale.

Important Note: If account set up (Adminstration / Set Up) does not have the feature to Create/modify tickets on past dates (back-end only) enabled, then the cutoff time for refund set at product level will be considered which means that tickets wont be cancellable outside of that period. If the feature to modify tickets in the past is enabled then the cutoff times for refunds is ignored.

Once saved the schedule will appear in the UI on the Edit Route page. From this screen, the schedule can be deleted (provided no seats have been sold on a manifest yet), edited, viewed or select a copy of the current schedule to create another one and generate further changes.

There are two different ways you can create a schedule for a route.

Journey Pricing: Create and Update rules

If you load records with no ID, the system will check if the information matches with the existing records. If it is a 100% match, it will give an error “records were not created because duplicate records already exist in the system”. If the information is different (for example price, even by a cent), it will create a new rule which will be the one to apply, since it was the last one created out of the two (previous one and new one with 0.01 cents more).

Once cross border taxation is enable in the account each route will have a Cross Border Taxation distance Table. In each space you will have to enter the distance between stations and this distance will be used for prorating the amount of tax applied to the journey using the different tax rates configured (normal vs. border rates). You can also upload the distances by downloading the csv template and uploading it with the values.

Reconciliation formula

For majority of the tickets sold, the work flow is straight forward: A ticket is generated when a transaction is successful. Paid transaction total equals paid ticket amount. Similarly when a gift certificate or a paid in item is created, a paid transaction is generated, and the transaction total equals to the amount paid for the gift certificate.

Go to the manifest where you want to move ALL the tickets sold and select the icon with the white arrow

After you choose them, click on Find trips, and a list of available trips will be shown, similar to the sales flow. You can click on the Details on the right to see information about each trip. Select one and click Move.

Seatmaps with new design

The last step is to assign the new inventory item and seat map to the schedule. To do this, navegate to Admin -> Sales inventory -> Routes, and select the route and schedule and from there you can assign the seatmap to the schedule.
