To setup live seatmaps, we first need to update the hold period a customer will have on their purchase window selection that will prevent other users from booking the same seat.

To create a Seat map navigate to Admin > Sales operations -> Seatmap

To create a new version Seatmap navigate to Admin > Sales operations -> Seatmap

The right side of the overview is a bit different depending on the use of seatmaps and/or vehicle assignment.

Vehicles can be assigned to schedules and manifest. Each vehicle can also be associated to a seatmap.

Vehicle: Assign a vehicle item. To be able to assign vehicles the vehicles need to have been previously created and the user will need read access to the permission "/operations/manifests/changeseatmap".

Allow to assign a vehicle without a seatmap to a manifest. This feature if enable will allow to assign a vehicle to a manifest without a seatmap. Notice that this will only work if the manifest doesn't already has a seatmap assigned, if so, even with this feature enable you will not be able to change the manifest to stop using seatmaps.

Early seat selection affects where the seatmap is shown for schedules that use seatmap. When this checkbox is checked you will see the seatmap besides the trip results. If left unchecked the seatmap(s) will shown when entering the passengers details.

Use Case: For trips with seatmaps that have multiple seat classes (ex: VIP seats, and standard seats), operators may want to only sell the "VIP" seats for longer distance trips only to maximize revenue. In this case, create two fare tables, one for VIP where O&D prices are set to only long distance combinations, and another fare table for standard seats with all O&D combinations. Passengers will not be able to book the VIP class seats for the short haul trips that were not priced in the VIP fare table.

If a seat fee is disabled then it will not be displayed in the seatmap as a valid fee to associate to a given seat but a disabled fee that is already associated to a particular seat can be used and applied during the purchase flow.

If the trip has a seatmap, an available seat will be automatically assigned to the passenger and informed to the driver.

If multiple users select the same trip result at nearly the same time, the system will allow only the first user who made the selection, chose the corresponding seats (if a seatmap is available), and clicked the Next button to proceed.

• Added support for the new version of seatmaps.

In order to apply the prices to the seats you must configure their price in a fare table and assign the seat class to the seats in seatmaps.

Early seat selection: Checking this box will move the seatmap and seat selection earlier in the sales flow to the trip results screen.

In the case the manifest uses seatmaps, the first available seat will be assigned to the ticket and showed in the scanner app.

Seatmaps has to be set up correctly

Please note this is still in beta version and also requires all Seatmaps to be updated to the latest version. Not recommended to use without checking with Betterez support.

In case seatmaps and seat classes have been configured in the sales process, the modifiers will have the same behavior for each of the configured prices.
